Our Wedding Inspiration

A secret Pinterest board is a staple for a brides as soon as you have got engaged no? I made mine almost immediately, made sure it was private so no guests could see the things I was planning and didn’t make it public until the big day was done.

5 Minutes With My Advertisers - July 2018.

My poor July advertisers have had to wait a whole long time for this one. I try and get my advertisers round up done in the first kinda week of the month but alas, life majorly got in the way of this one.

For the first time ever I haven't filled the six advertising slots available for the month and I suspect it won't be the last. The blogging world is changing and the world of blog advertising is changing I think. Maybe it'll stay in this format for a while yet, maybe I won't fill all 6 spaces, maybe it'll change and I'll come up with a new system. Who knows - but what I do know is I'm not the only one thinking it.

5 Minutes With My January Advertisers 2018.

How we're already on my first advertisers post of 2018 is beyond me. It feels like 2 minutes since I was writing the first one of 2017 and yet here we are in a fresh new year with (some) fresh faces and lots of fresh makeovers.

I am excited to be in 2018, I think maybe you've gathered that from my recent blog posts and my Insta stories but I am also really excited for my advertisers. Lots of the girls who grace my sidebar return month on month and it gives me a chance to really watch their blogs change, develop and grow and it's great when these are some of my fav bloggers and online pals.

My Month In Photos - December 2017.

Well well well we've come to the end of the month and the end of the year - isn't it satisfying it's ending on a Sunday and the new year is coming in on a new week? The stars have aligned my friends.

It's been a long time I've been writing these posts, well over a year and I don't know if they, like my Friday Favourites, will be joining us in 2018. I just feel like they're a little stale these days and often I'm just repeating in one what I wrote on the other so idk where they're going, whether they'll come back in a new form or I'll just sack it off altogether.

But anyway, less about what's to come (or what's not) - in the spirit of ending the year right, here's what I got up to in the last festive month.

8 Ways To Make Christmas Last Ages (Or A Few Extra Days At Least)

So if you've read my post a few days back on why Christmas is the best time of the year then it'll come as no surprise that I like to make it last as long as possible. Sure it might be one date on the calendar but it starts December 1st we all know that.

If you're also resembling Buddy the elf at this point in the week like I am then here's 8 ways to make it last as long as you possibly can - or at least longer than solely the 25th December.

What's On My Christmas List 2017?

I think you know you're getting old when you add pasta bowls and cake tents to your Christmas list.

A lot of people, my brother in particular who always scorns at my presents, would look at this list and feel gutted if they received some if not all of it. But I am one of those people who'd rather a Primark gift card than anything fancy or a christmas mug over a bottle of perfume. I'd be gutted if I got high end makeup, a designer bag or posh chocolates but give me little and cheap and plenty and I'm as happy as a pig in shit.

So along with my more grown up choices of gift including recipe books and a neck wheatie I have gone with the age old classic formula of some cheap clothing, some nail varnish and some novelty Christmas homeware because you just can't beat it.

The Importance Of Friendships In Your Twenties.

When you're in your teens your friends, the amount of them and the calibre of them were seemingly the most important thing in the world. If you had few friends you were a loser, if you had loads of friends you were popular and if you were part of the 'cool' ones then all the better.

And then you leave school and go to university and graduate and start working life and those friends you had probably aren't your friends anymore and the rest of the world certainly doesn't know you were part of the popular crowd. Very quickly you're taught that actually it's the quality of friends you have that matters most over the quantity and having lots of friends isn't the be all and end all anymore.

But your friendships in your twenties are just as important as those in your formative years - they're just important in a different way.

A Word On Instagram Unfollowing.

I've had an Instagram cull. I started yesterday following 703 accounts and I'm on a cool 438. Yes I unfollowed 265 people in one (v long v boring) sitting.

I also did this with Twitter the previous day, unfollowing people who didn't follow me unless I loved their feed and also people that I generally think are a bit of a dick. Soz. I feel like there's a lot to be said on Twitter unfollowing, people accept it as cleansing your feed and making it a generally nicer and happier place to be. But Instagram? Not so much wording.

How To Keep Your Mini Break Packing To A Single Bag (+ FREE Printable)

It's Summer, if we're not throwing caution to the wind and booking a fortnight on some Caribbean island because we're flat broke but fuck it we need a holiday, then we're lusting after something anything to get away from home.

Having just booked 2 mini breaks or long weekends with another 2 in the pipeline, the art of packing has once again entered my brain. The mini break or the long weekend is one of the most tricky breaks to pack for. It define it as two or three (or even four at a push) nights away, it's longer than one night from home but shorter than an actually holiday and preparing for it is a fine art.

Social Media Stats; June 2017.

I don't want to bang on about the fact I was on jury service for half of the previous month but it really did have a huge impact on my life and it certainly had an impact on my blog. Because I don't schedule ahead because I'm shit I didn't have any content planned for whilst I was away which meant blog posts were sporadic when I wasn't sleeping, social media was almost non existent and everything suffered basically.

What I'm saying is, this was the worst month in a while but don't give up on me yet advertisers, I aspire to be better this month. (Also I appreciate my stats are less than terrible even in their worst months, I am a victim to my own need to beat myself).
