5 Minutes With My Advertisers - July 2018.

Meet my July advertisers.

My poor July advertisers have had to wait a whole long time for this one. I try and get my advertisers round up done in the first kinda week of the month but alas, life majorly got in the way of this one.

For the first time ever I haven't filled the six advertising slots available for the month and I suspect it won't be the last. The blogging world is changing and the world of blog advertising is changing I think. Maybe it'll stay in this format for a while yet, maybe I won't fill all 6 spaces, maybe it'll change and I'll come up with a new system. Who knows - but what I do know is I'm not the only one thinking it.

Enough musing about the future of blogging, here's my five advertisers from July;

5.

Not content with merely a Bronze and a Silver slot, Megan from Reflections & Ramblings has snatched the top slot all for her own. I love it when a plan comes together and someone samples all of the slots and that's just what's happened here. You can read my introduction to Megan's blog from May and last month's too.

4.

Since we last spoke, lovely Megan has moved house! She's had a busy old time of it but she's managed to find time to write a blog post or two, including this one on house hunting or tinder - a comparison. I love a god GIF you know me and this post had me laughing like a drain.

3.

I love a good favourites post and I love sneaking a peep into people's lives so I thought it'd be fun to share Megan's June favs with you all. I like that favourites posts are often really differently laid out and include lots of different things so if you want a summary, Megan's includes things like fav weeks, experiences, books, films and outfits. I am desperate to watch Ocean's 8 so was pleased to see Megan recommended it, loved her holiday snaps and loved reading her review of Garnier's Gradual Tan because I used to use it and literally couldn't get it to work for me but loved it all the same!

2.

My favourite post of Megan's this time around? 'How I'm stopping my dysfunctional relationship before it's too late'. I was obviously intrigued by this title, I mean who wouldn't be? I won't give away the plot of the post but I was hooked and looooved reading it and a LOT of the feelings were very reminiscent of battles I've had in my own brain.

1.

Since the set up of my new hashtag #diaryentryfrommyhome the same names keep cropping up in it and taking part and Megan is one of those babes. I am loving looking at your homes  or in Megan's case, a very well timed new home. You can follow Megan and her hashtag entrants over here!

OH HELLO WHO'S THIS CUTE GAL BACK AGAIN? After a break of a mere month, Megan from Lazy Thoughts is back advertising with me again and I could not be happier. Read everything I've ever said about this girl from  December 2016MarchApril, JuneJulySeptember , October 2017 and  FebruaryMarch, April and May of 2018!

4.

I could probably earn million from every time I've said my blog and Megan's blogs could be twins but I really feel like we've nailed bouncing off each other's content, advertising and following and we couldn't be better matched. Every time I feel like I'm having an unusual spike in traffic or (more usually) a drop or whenever I am feeling unmotivated or struggling to come up with bujo content I visit Megan's blog or drop her a DM on social media and I can guarantee she's feeling the same. With such similar vibes and content comes the same peaks and troughs and it's lovely to know we're in the same boat and we're not just failing at running successful web spaces (although I'm sure our motivation levels could do with a kick up the bum if you have any spare oomph going).

3.

Speaking of catching up with her blog stats, every month at the beginning of the month Megan shares her social media and blog statistics report full of all the gossip and low down on her figures. She starts the post off with a 'if you want to know the current trend of 2018? A low decline' and if that's not a phrase applied to 90% of the blogging world at the moment then idk what is. That being said, I am obsessed with her little Insta grids with the cute colours behind and deffo hope that stays. Read here!

2.

I for once am not going to share a bullet journal post from Megan this month. I know I know, sheer madness. The reason for that though is instead I am going to share her travel round up of her time in San Fransisco which she said she worked really hard on and which I loved. I mean sure, I have no upcoming trips to the windy city planned for myself but maybe YOU do (or maybe, just like me you love to see people's holiday pics and read about what they did).

1.

And last but by no means least....it's not really a section about Megan if I don't include her Instagram link is it? This gal's Instagram has been a long standing favourite of mine and it never ceases to amaze me how she doesn't have 10,000 more followers than she does. She keeps saying her Insta is going through an identity/creativity crisis but if you love soft tones, lots of baby pink and baby blue (she is so on brand with her blog I can't even) and lots of lifestyle then this is the feed for you.

My only new advertiser of the month comes in the lovely form of Melita Latham, a girl and a blog that cover all range of topics from UK travels to grub to her own business and general life. If you haven't come across her name before then deffo jump straight over to her blog to binge read everything she's posted in the last few months!

4.

When scouring her blog I came across a whole blog post on her weekend to Wales so obvs it had to be the first thing I shared didn't it? I always love to read about my home city and see what other people thought of Cardiff from a tourist perspective so was thrilled to find out she had a fab time. She packed loads in to her weekend from the castle to shopping to a quick jaunt over the bay to Penarth and has loads of great recommendations if you're heading our way soon!

3.

Speaking of travel, when I have a new advertiser I like to share their latest post and Melita's happens to be another UK travel hot spot - Essex. If you're in the south east of the country and find yourself with time to kill this post is the one for you. With recommendations for food and restaurants and what to do in Southend you can't go wrong with bookmarking this post!

2.

If you don't know Melita then you won't know she has a banging business to boot alongside her blog. In this post she shares a big old life update about her business, photo shoots, interns, what she's been up to at home and it's a great way to get to know her. As a new advertiser I am always sooo thankful for these kinds of posts because it really gives me a feel for the person behind the blog and I always love a good snoop into someone else's life!

1.

And having mentioned her business I'd be mad not to share the link with you wouldn't I! Melita Latham London is a super gorgeous collection of bags, backpacks, travel cards, clutches and even embossed notebooks (perfect for the bullet journal fans among you). The quality of these products look absolutely ridiculous and the colours and finish are divine. You can get yourself a gift voucher to help with your purchase so if you have a birthday coming up I'd definitely forward the link to your friends and family for that little bit of inspiration.....

A familiar face? Of course you know Ellen from E L Feel Good's Vintage, she's been advertising with me since the day dot. You can read about her from way back when in AprilMayJuneJulyAugustSeptemberNovember in 2017 and this year in January , FebruaryMarchAprilMay and June!

4.

I've mentioned Ellen's Twitter before as a hub of activity but it's been a while so I thought another point in the right direction was well overdue. Need a blogging hack? Ideas on blog post content? Not sure how to get into affiliate marketing? Ellen's twitter is awash with all kinds of topics on all different subjects and well worth the follow imo!

3.

If you know me you'll know I am a big fan of bloggers sharing tricks of the trade and specifically those sharing advice on money. I think it's important to talk about how we monetise our blogs so I was keen to read Ellen's post on secrets revealed; how bloggers actually make money. In it, Ellen outlines the variety of ways in which bloggers make money from advertising to sponsored content so if you have no idea where to start, this is the post for you.

2.

Ellen has been advertising with me so long I see her blog go through redesigns, rebranding and since the last time I trawled her blog instead of reading on Bloglovin or from Twitter, I found a handy 'how to start a blog' tab. It'll take you to her blogging tips category which is full to the brim of tips and tricks and is the perfect starting point if you're new or a good reference if you're a pro.

1.

And as if by coincidence (but really just fabulous planning), it's an appropriate time to share Ellen's free 7 day course on starting a blog. It's an email sign up and every day will give you a new topic to explore, from reasons why to start a blog to the logistics of how and what to do. Sign up here and you'll also get exclusive access to Ellen's Facebook community for help and advice!

Look who's sneaked in for another month! After last month me saying it was my last time with Hailey she only went and nabbed a last minute slot on a whim for July!  You can read about her previous advertising months in November and December 2016, January, FebruaryMarchSeptember, November and December in 2017 and also this year in February and March,  AprilMay and June last month too.

4.

This month Hailey celebrated nine yes NINE years on Twitter. I 'met' Hailey back in probs 2016 when Twitter chats were massive and we were all taking part in multiple at a time so it was fun to go back and see what she thought about the platform and how she has utilised it. She also makes a good point about how she wishes she'd used it to the best of her ability way back when when she first started and how she might be Zoella now and I think we can ALL relate to that!

3.

How half of the year is over is still blowing my mind but with another month over comes a round up from Hailey. June was a busy one for this gal with time of work, packed in loads of fun weekends and a little time at home. You can tell simply from her photos she had a blast with all her friends and had lots of mini adventures like the zoo and quality time with her godson. She also spent time watching Germany in the world cup but the less said about that the better......

2.

If you've missed Hailey on social media all this time then if I had to pick one platform for you to follow it'd be Instagram. I've talked before about how she's always sharing snaps from her travels and at the moment the vibe is v much architecture and a bit of Disney thrown in for good measure. I love photos of houses and buildings and Hailey has a fab eye for capturing them - well worth a follow imo!

1.

I struggled where to find a natural conclusion for Hailey's round up this month and that's because I thought there was a post you'd all love but I didn't know if I could do it justice. That post my friends is this one on the Gimore Girl's tag. I don't actually watch Gilmore Girls and have seen approx 20 seconds of it my whole life so I didn't want to be like THIS IS HILAR but all the same I thought you folks would enjoy it. I know Gilmore Girls is like a right of passage for ladies our general ages so I knew you'd love it all the same - read here (and maybe have a go yourself!)
