1 year in work | 1 year out of self employment

As of today I have been working for 395 days and it has gone by faster than you can say ‘regular money’. I think it says everything you need to know about how I’ve found working full time with the fact that I wanted to write this post for my 1 year of work anniversary on July 24th and yet here we are, nearly a month later.

Self Employed to Employed - Going Against The Trend.

I bet every tweet/insta story/blog post you've seen lately about freelancing has been about someone finally handing in their notice and going self employed. 

The working world is changing and there's more and more opportunities for people to create their own path and their own jobs. The online world is changing too and it's not taking the likes of Zoella and Tanya Burr to take their blog and channels full time. Now, with the right following and the sponsored opportunities, I am seeing more and more influencers taking their personal work full time and each one is a big tick for the community making us feel like we could do it too. 

Surprise! I Got A Job.

For those of you who follow me on Instagram it maybe it's such a surprise anymore that I have a new job. For those of you who only follow this bog maybe it's a bit more of one. For those of you who follow my illustration business maybe there's a bit of confusion. 

It's been 4 weeks now since I started a big girls grown up office job and it's taken me about this long to find the right words, plus the time, to explain what I have done and why I have done it. 

7 Failsafe Ways To Motivate Yourself When You Work From Home.

Working freelance from home sure has it's perks there's no doubt about that. 

There's the lack off office politics, there's the free timetables, the ability to take a day off on a whim, not having to fill in time sheets and don't even get me started on the perks of working from your sofa. 

But for all it's highlights of course, like any job it has it's pitfalls. Working from home and working for yourself has it's strains and the biggest of all comes from the knowledge that you and you alone are making your cash. Sick day? You ain't getting paid. Holiday? You're losing money as the days go on. 

It can be a ballache for your mojo so here's 7 of my failsafe ways to stay motivated when working from home:
