Post Wedding Admin Checklist

Yes, the pre wedding period might be full of planning, decisions and admin but that honeymoon phase has a pretty hefty checklist to follow too - especially if you change your name. From updating your details everywhere to opening a joint bank account (we never needed one until people wrote cheques in both our names in our cards). From writing thank yous to collecting your photos to selling your leftover decor - there’s a mountain of jobs to do.

Pre Wedding Admin Checklist

Wedding planning is A LOT - that we have established. And whether you’re having the full affair or something more low key, whether your budget is a few hundred or a few thousand, whether you’re taking the traditional route or not, there is a lot of work that goes in before a wedding day comes about.

Honeymoon Plans

We booked our honeymoon back in November or December of last year but we’d settled on the plan a little while before that. We thought quite a bit about where we wanted to go and Jos’ passport has expired and whilst we really need to get around to renewing it, we’d pretty much already made up our minds on what we wanted to do.

Why I'd Recommend a Winter Wedding

Our venue had all of February and March free so we could pick a date that suited us. We got together on 7th May 2010 and engaged on 7th October 2018 so getting hitched on 7th February 2020 which was a Friday made pleasant sense, combined with the fact it was my Mum’s birthday that weekend too seemed fun and so we booked it.

What Other People’s Weddings Taught me About my Own

I’m sure we’ve all been to a couple of weddings and I have been attending them since I was a baby and had to be taken out for a walk at an extended family member’s wedding so I didn’t get arsey. I have been to family weddings, friends weddings, been bridesmaid 3 times before my own wedding and the more frequently I went to them the more I got a vibe of how I’d want my own to go.

Wedding Money Saving Tips

Weddings are going to cost you money, there is no two ways about that. There is no such thing as a free wedding, even if you do the bare minimum legally with not a single frill or even a celebratory meal afterward, it costs to give legal notice and get your wedding certificate. And the more you add on to your day the more the cost adds up and even those who profess to have a ‘cheap’ wedding can easily spend a grand. A cheap wedding these days is a few thousand, with the average British wedding costing £31,974 you need a decent amount of cash behind you for your big day.

Pub Quiz and Pre Wedding Parties

The best weddings I have been to have had some sort of evening before kind of party, it allows the guests to have the chance to catch up, to see you, to see each other, mingle and get to know each other before the wedding itself. It really allows all the focus to be on what you want it to be on the day, not a load of snatched conversations of people who haven’t seen each other for months and personally, it allowed me and Jos the chance to make sure we got round everyone over two nights, not one rushed mingling job.

A Month of Wedding Content | Prepare for spam....

Ohhh yes, after a few years ‘off’ regular blogging, I am coming back for one solid month of wedding spam - because if you can’t rinse the biggest weekend of your life for content then what’s the point?

2010 - 2020 | A Decade in Review

I have only seen two new decades in my life (and a new millennium which will be a once in a generation thing soon), so it felt fitting when I have a platform full of my life and memories, to write about 10 years of them.

Halloween Decor Inspiration For 2018

A less wordy post from me today pals. I’ve been fretting about having these photos ready to go and no words to get out and then I realised - why do you even need words in a Halloween inspo post?

I want to get into the habit of absent minded blogging, of not fretting to make the perfect blog post, to just chuck some images for inspo up online and let you all have a nosey at my Halloween decorations.

But I digress, this isn’t about the state of blogging or where I’m taking my content - this is about Halloween for 2018 and the decorations I’ve collected over the year.

How Much 'Extra' Do We Need In Blogging?

Is blogging dead? Is simply having a blog enough anymore? Can we call ourselves bloggers if we only post video or on social media? Has the game changed?

How much extra do we need for blogging these days? Are our audience content with just a blog anymore? I think the short answer to that one is no.
