Travelling With Your Bullet Journal | Handy Tips & Pinnable Ideas

I have already expressed my love for bullet journaling when it comes to travelling but I really truly believe it’s where it comes into it’s own. I use my bullet journal extensively when I am travelling and it is the key to remaining organised and therefore remaining calm. We all know that whilst holidays are hopefully relaxing, actually getting there might be quite the opposite but your bujo should go some way to helping you out.

Travelling with your bullet journal should be split into two halves; before you travel and when you travel. Before you travel you should include what you have to do, what to pack, everything you need to relieve yourself of some of the panic before you get on your way. During your travels your bullet journal should be a quick reminder of everything you mustn’t forget – whether that be an address for a postcard or that person you need to remember to text happy bday when you’re away.

Lord knows when you’re travelling the days roll into one and it’s hard to know what day of the week it is let alone the dates so your bullet journal should be a handy reminder, without intruding on your holiday too much. There should be no need to create 4 pages of notes for when you’re away – try and keep it to a double page spread at most with just a few handy notes and reminders to keep you on track. When I went to Venice I didn’t write in my journal once, deciding to fill in habit trackers when I got home but I glanced at it once a day to remind myself to tweet my blog advertisers or text Joss a reminder and that was plenty enough.

Don’t forget if you are travelling with your journal you want to keep it as safe as your cash and your passport – god forbid you lost your bujo, I know my life would fall apart without mine. I recommend keeping yours in your in flight bag, maybe with a few pens or some washi tape so you can keep yourself occupied on the flight. If you do have to put it in checked baggage if you’re flying or not have it on your person then at least make sure you’ve popped your name and address in it so it can get sent back to you if the worst happens.
