Wedding Inspiration for Other Seasons

Before getting engaged I’d never have considered a winter wedding, but after having one it definitely was the right season for us. Of course, that didn’t stop me from considering what I’d have done if we got married at any other time of year….

Spring Wedding:

My Spring wedding would have depended on when Easter was that year I reckon…… Easter falls mid April? You can bet your last pound coin I’d have had an easter egg table plan and mini eggs as table favours. But if we’re just talking about generic spring, I’d definitely have gone down the pastel route full of blooms. Lots of blush pink, maybe grey suits, lots of whimsical accessories and a floaty dress with lace on. Confetti would have been dried petals, the bridesmaids would have definitely been in pink and gypsophila everywhere.

Summer Wedding:

Summer wedding for me would have meant colour colour and more colour. My bouquet would have incorporated sunflowers for sure and the suits would have been shirts and braces not jackets and ties. I would have had a strapless dress or one with spaghetti straps and probably backless. For venue decor I would have had bright bold colours, handmade paper cranes or pom pom garlands hanging from the ceiling and the invitations would have been in coloured envelopes, presumably with some sort of sequins or confetti inside. And yes, instead of traditional puddings there would have been mini strawberries and cream - maybe we’d even have had a bbq as the catering.

Autumn Wedding:

Having made my inspiration moodboards, I decided autumn would have been the season for me if we hadn’t have gone for winter so I guess I was destined to get hitched out of season either way. I love Halloween, autumnal leaves, pinecones and lots of wooden textures and foliage so my autumnal wedding would definitely have been dark and lots of burnt orange and blood red. I think a lot of the decor for an autumnal wedding would have been similar to what I used in for our February weekend There would have been pies for dinner, halloween chocolate for the kids bags and mini pumpkin table centres to boot.
