5 Minutes With My Advertisers - December 2016

Meet my December advertisers.

So I've only been offering advertising packages on my blog for a month and a bit and it's already one of my favourite things. I love making the time to catch up with the girls, to reading what they've written and to promoting them on social media. I genuinely enjoy scheduling everything and writing these posts and I am SO happy I decided to do it!

5.

Oh bloody hell, where do I even start with Beth? I remember striking up a conversation with her on Twitter months and months ago about friendships and bad friends and we basically haven't stopped chatting yet? I properly fan girl over her, she's an absolute darling and I am thrilled she took up the Gold spot for this month.

4.

Beth's photo on her bio on her blog is one of my favourites ever. It's so cute and every time I visit her blog it fills me with such joy, it radiates happiness and cosiness and it makes me so happy.

3.

Beth started Blogmas this month and uhm.....plans changed but she did complete Blogtober and hers was one of my absolute faves. There is something so wonderful about blogging challenges when it means your favourite bloggers post daily content and you get to just binge read all of them. You can find her Blogtober posts here

2.

I already shared this on Twitter before I wrote this round up but Beth recently wrote this piece on Borderline Personality Disorder and it's such a bloody important read. I'm no fan of it but I myself used to have some preconceived ideas of what some mental illnesses meant and it was 100% down to a lack of empathy, education and experience. Obviously (mainly thanks to the fabulous MH bloggers in the blogging community) my experiences and knowledge have changed and I think this post is an absolute must read. Trigger warning applied obvs.

1.

I have made my love of Beth's Instagram no secret of late. She's recently gone berserk with the most gorgeous images I have ever seen and my envy knows no bounds. The nature, the ports, the sea, the landscapes....omfg I just can't deal with how beautiful.

So hopefully Naomi won't be a stranger to you by now, we tweet a lot, I talk about her a lot and she was one of my advertisers last month too. Yes, the babe signed up for two whole months. You can read what I had to say about her last month over here!

4.

Naomi recently asked me to take part in her series Period Positivity which I was massively honoured to do because Tara from Cattitude & Co did the first one and I felt a bit famous to even be associated in the same series as her. I was thrilled Naomi wanted me to write one and I had a lot of fun, you can read it over here

3.

Since I wrote last month's post, I don't know if Naomi had a redesign or if I just hadn't viewed her blog on a desktop for a while but her blog is looking super swanky of late. Like I went on it the other day and was all HOLY MOTHER OF GOD WHAT IS THIS BEAUTY. Fyi the beauty was Naomi, her face is the first thing that greets you.

2.

Last month I mentioned how Naomi's Pinterest inspired blog posts and some of my favourites and then whadda ya know, she knocked it out of the ball park with this one on Gryffindor. Like oh lawd the cosiness is unreal and the colours are some of my favourites but hand on heart, what a bloody good idea for a post.

1.

Given I've mentioned her Pinterest inspired posts not once but twice, you won't be surprised that I'd recommend her Pinterest account as one of my absolute favourites. It's sleek, it's colourful, it's seasonal and it's FULL of inspiration. You can follow her here!

Megan from Lazy Thoughts blog has been a little fav of mine since I discovered her in the summer through Bullet Journal posts and I always know her posts from anyone else's when I'm scrolling through Twitter or Bloglovin at super speed. Her promo photos have such a distinctive theme and are always recognisable.

4.

When you read Megan's bio on her blog she says 'I'm a massive fan of bullet journalling, and have an unhealthy obsession with striped t shirts'. I mean could she be any more my type of gal? The answer is no BTW.

3.

Megan was one of the beautiful people that came to #BloggerPitP way back when in August (doesn't that seem like an awfully long time ago??). Megan was one of the winners of the bunting Interior Goods supplied us with (so jel) and she shared this room tour with it featured.

2.

I'm still just as addicted to bullet journalling and reading bujo posts as ever and Megan's is the stuff of dreams. Like her bullet journal is so clear and and neat and gorge and her posts on it give me allllll the envy. You can catch up with her bullet journal posts here.

1.

Oh lordy lord where do I even start with Megan's Instagram? I keep mentioning how much I love the Insta feeds of the girls gracing my sidebar this month but honestly they're some of my favourites and they obviously work so damn hard on them. Megan's is everything I want mine to be and it's not. It's full of dark tones offset against white, like the contrast is insane and it makes for such a striking feed plus she isn't limited to what content she posts which I need more of in my life. 5.

I've been lucky this month that the girls on my sidebar are blogs and people I have known for a while now. People I already genuinely loved and followed and chatted to so it'll be no surprise Steph from Nourish Me Blog is no different. I've been a fan for a while now.

4.

Steph's blog, no matter the season always makes me feel so refreshed and summery. Even today writing this when I was stalking all corners of the site (yes advertisers, this is what I do) it made me feel so inspired and happy. Yellow is not enough of a thing on blogs, we're all about that pink and black and white life but Steph's is a welcome sunny little change.

3.

I always talk about how I never watch YouTube videos, like I've never been that gal, I always forget to watch people's vlogs and when I do get involved I nearly always find myself down a carpool karaoke wormhole. But, when my advertisers say they want to promote their channel I always go and have a look and I felt so familiar with Steph's before I even clicked on anything. I always see her promos on Instagram and I felt like I was at home, like I knew where I was with the thumbnails before I even clicked on a vid. That's a sign of good branding if I ever saw one. FYI my fav video - without a doubt the Paperchase haul

2.

Steph's makeup gives me serious MUA envy. There, I said it. Always always on Insta or on thumbnails for blogs or wherever I see it, her brows, her eyeshadow (omfg her eyeshadow), her ability to pull off a dark lip. I mean, I just can't.

1.

I always try and share a really recent posts from my advertisers, like stuff they've written in the past week or so and Steph wrote a really heartfelt post about her grandfather but I had this one bookmarked that I wanted to share from a while back. Steph wrote this post on what she'd include in a NourishMe subscription box and I LOVED the idea, like I really want to write a similar post myself because it was such a good idea. Also I'd 100% subscribe if she was putting together a box like the one in this post Just get me that colouring book stat.

5.

Another repeat customer! Hailey is another name you'll probably see popping up on my Twitter feed, especially when we both manage a Late Night Bloggers chat (which hasn't happened in far too long). Hailey also advertised with me last month and you can read what I wrote about her over here

4.

Hailey also guest blogged for me way back when in July when I went on holiday, I actually saved her till the end and she wrote this absolute beaut on Mean Girls. We have bonded over our love of classic films and the Kardashians.

3.

I haven't read any of Hailey's posts on my laptop for a few days or so, I've been reading them on Bloglovin so it was only when I clicked to write this post that I realised she's got the snow widget on and omfg so festive. I really really wish I could have it on my blog I am seriously in love.

2.

In last month's round up I mentioned that I love Hailey's 'Goodbye....' posts and I tagged her Goodbye October post. This month yet again it was one of my favourites, I just love the way she sets them out and the way she includes little things that made her happy or her Instagram posts of the month or articles she's enjoyed. I always find some corkers.

1.

Since I wrote my last post Hailey has a new sidebar on her blog which is all shades of cute. As well as her own blog button she shares the buttons of other blogs she loves, an idea that I really like and she has included her categories which is suuuuuuch a good way of finding everything you want. It also makes it easier to get lost reading 32109498234783 of her posts so that's always fun too.

5.

Oh Jess, I always feel the pressure of how to place my advertisers within my round up posts (there's a system behind it dw) but I know I've left a goldie to the end here. Jess is one of my favourite people to collab with, she's so lovely and SO helpful and does everything so I barely have to work and she's just fabulous.

4.

Obviously as you can see from the photo above, Jess has given her blog a makeover for December and has the most adorable festive banner ever. The little reindeers, I just can't cope. Also if you scroll right to the bottom of her blog you'll see a banner of her Instagram feed which is also suuuuuper festive.

3.

Another guest blogger from way back in the heat of Summer when I was on holiday Jess wrote this post for me which was a general life catch up and it's this tone of writing of Jess' that I love. It's so casual and just like having a chat and a gossip with a pal and I LOVE when that kind of tone comes through people's blogs. Also there's a photo of her gorgeous dog you don't want to miss out on too.

2.

Like I mentioned above, I do have a proper stalk of everyone's blogs when they advertise with me to make sure I don't miss something and oh mumma did a find a gem this time. How I didn't know Jess did #52weeksofhappiness is beyond me. You read that right, 52 weeks. She wrote a weekly blog post of happy happy things which saw her blog turn one and it's SO cute. Like I went right back to the very first post and it's amazing when you have that all laid out in front of you to see the changes in her photos, her style and even to a certain extent the way she wrote them comparing the first and the last. It's such an amazing idea (and achievement!)

1.

Of late, my favourite Jess post was this one on DIY Tassell Bunting which she made for her birthday. I actually couldn't believe these were homemade, they're almost identical to the ones I got from Talking Tables and I was adamant she must have received them the same. They look sooooo professional and I am a bit in love with the colour scheme.
