Top Social Media Hits - November 2015
I seem to be saying it every month but HOW is another month by and how close are we to the end of the year??!! Anyway, Day 3 of the Blogging Advent Calendar is my monthly segment- a roundup of what was successful for me on social media this month! As always Instagram first....
1. The Apprentice.
The best hitter this month on Instagram (and the top on my blog, facebook and twitter - a real good all rounder) was my post basically having a rant about the episode of The Apprentice where they made a children's book. I know that content that is current and content about views and politics are always a winner when it comes to popularity but I think on a newsfeed of fellow artists, illustrators and creatives, this post really hit the nail on the head for a lot of people.
2. #manonthemoon
Just a post before my Apprentice themed shot was this illustration I did for colour collective on the day the John Lewis Christmas advert came out and this was my second most popular post of the month with 41 views and still counting. Again, this was posted when it was current, it had literally aired for the first time that day and it was trending worldwide online. Current content always sells.
3. My Breakfast.
Bit of a weird one and I didn't even realise it had slowly been racking up the hits but this shot of my breakfast and my computer titled my start to the day was a big winner for me this month. Maybe people like computers, maybe people like breakfast...whatever it is about this image, people seemed to like it.
4. She Believed She Could So She Did.
Again, another more unusual high performer on Insta this month, this shot of my blogging diary. What was unusual about this post is I wasn't actually promoting anything....I was simply saying there was nothing new on my blog that weekend but that I was working on a few articles for the upcoming week but people seemed to dig the image. I guess it isn't hard to see why, as a blogging community we are drawn to marble, white, stationary, quotes and a good old flatlay and this photo encompasses all in one. What a hero.
5. John Lewis. Again.
This month I wrote this piece on why the John Lewis Christmas advert is a bit of marketing magic and I used this illustration (which is actually part of an animation) from the John Lewis website and it was my fifth over achiever. People just love a good Christmas ad, what can I tell ya.
On Twitter, following the same trend as last month I tweeted more (300 tweets exactly this month) and thus my interactions and view count soared from 19K in October to 22.6K this month. Not bad for a gal that spends half an hour every morning scheduling.
Weirdly my profile visits went down and so did my new followers but I still had a record breaking month. Apart from The Apprentice post which was big player everywhere my tweets promoting my work on the John Lewis advert were the best received of the month and this one about graduating was my most successful link up.
As always, make sure you follow me!
