Words Of Wisdom - November 2016.

Words Of Wisdom - November 2016.

So my phone broke again and I'm fine honestly fine. -insert passive agressive GIF here-

But yeah this post was meant to go up this morning but then I just kinda didn't schedule it last night....and then it was supposed to go up this afternoon but I got a bit distracted googling Christmas decorations..... And then it was supposed to go up about 2 hours ago but I've been troubleshooting my phone and well, here we are.

So if you need me over the next few days (hopefully it'll be fixed soon) bear with, I'm not as instantly reachable without my phone and if I'm out I am sans internet at all. Ffs.

Anyway, this November quote will set us up nicely for the month and all will be ok? Right?

"It was November - the month of crimson sunset, parting birds, deep, sad hymns of the sea, passionate wind-songs in the pines. Anne roamed through the pineland alleys in the park and, as she said, let that great sweeping wind blow the fogs out of her soul."

L.M Montgomery

Anne Of Green Gables.

These posts used to be more like a mantra for the month, some inspiration but now I seem to be leaning toward seasonal quotes and whilst this one is from a book and we might not all be called Anne, I for one can relate.

So you might have seen a pretty offensive hashtag doing the rounds a few weeks (maybe even months) ago now about just sucking it up and going for a walk for people with mental health issues. It was demeaning and horrible but the world of Twitter took it on and made it their own and came back stronger than the trolls.

It's not ok to tell people who are suffering with their mental health to just take a walk. However, if you ARE struggling and that's what works for you? That's ok boo.

For me, the great sweeping wind DOES blow the fog out of my mind and my soul.

Currently my mind if FULL. I pride myself on my ability to organise, prioritise and remember things and lately, my mind is too full and I'm all over the shop. I can't remember anything unless it's written down, my work to do list is 4 pages long, my mind is full of house redesigns and christmas presents and plans and bleurghhhh I just need a break before I burn.

But, the fresh air, the wind, the leaves, the crisp mornings, just breathing in air that isn't stale from the house, walking, taking time out with my niece, taking photos for Instagram....it just clears the fog.

It clears my mind and I feel healthier, I feel like a brighter version of myself and like the fog has lifted and I can think a bit clearer, work out what I need to do, how to prioritise and I'm back to me again.

So this November, I, and anyone else it works for, needs to remember to take some time out in the wind, in the air, in the leaves and the cold. All bundled up, clearing the fog from our souls. Because nobody needs to be burnt out once December comes.
